Seoul Searching

Have you ever travelled solo?

After being blessed (shout out to my mum) with a much-longed for plane ticket to a country I had oft spoken of: South Korea, I undertook my first solo travel experience.

I knew travelling by myself would teach me things about myself, I just didn’t know what the lessons would be.

Going to places that I had only read about or seen in my favourite K drama or watched on a social media platform was beyond exciting! However, excitement and contentment are two different things. In Busan I felt comfortable, content and ‘normal’ as though I had been in the city before. On Jeju Island, I appreciated the stunningly beautiful nature scenes, the friendly interaction and help given by those who lived and worked there and in Seoul, was wowed time and time again by the side by side urban, modern landscape next to the traditional.

Along with my high times, I had a couple of low times. I had to do some soul or Seoul searching while I was there and this is what He showed me after I returned. A lesson that I learned from one of my low moments is that when you make a mistake and mess up, God is not disappointed IN you, He is disappointed FOR you. He will always seek for your good. He will always want the best for your life as Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Allow God to give you His best.

Until next time.

Love & Blessings
